Beyond Romance

It is very fitting that the birth of the company which publishes the best Tagalog Romance pocketbooks would fall on Valentine’s Day. After all, February 14 is about love and romance and Bookware Publishing Corporation has been the source of romance and kilig of all Pinays around the world for eighteen years through My Special Valentine—one of the best-selling Tagalog Romance pocketbooks in the Philippines.

This year, however, My Special Valentine and Bookware celebrated a different kind of anniversary, a different kind of Valentine’s. To celebrate the 18th Anniversary of Bookware and My Special Valentine, the staff spent the day at Shepherd’s Home in Kaytikling, Taytay, Rizal.  Headed by Sharon Agnew of Christian Missions in the Philippine Islands, Shepherd’s Home provides temporary shelter and day-care for single mothers.

While it is true that February 14 is about romance, roses, and chocolates, the celebration of this day can be more than that. And Bookware and My Special Valentine acknowledge and support that. February 14 can be more than just a day for giving roses and chocolates to loved ones, it can also be spent helping those in need, supporting a cause and giving back to the community.
